I received my Bachelor Degree from the University of Washington in 1996 with a 3.8 GPA. My degree was in Women’s Health; which included Graduate level nursing classes. I graduated from Seattle Central Community College in 1991 with a 4.0 GPA while achieving prerequisites for nursing school. I was inducted in to Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society in 1990.
My major changed when I got to the University of Washington after taking a full year in a class entitledPsychobiologyof women. I began tutoring for my PsychoBiology Prefessor in my final quarter at the U.
I have been tutoring for approximately 20 years. I tutor all students from Kindergarten to Graduate school. I am qualified to tutor: Every subject K-6; 7th grade and above, prealgebra, algebra 1, History, Social Studies, beginning Biology, Reading, Language Arts,, Study Skills, Research Skills, General Science, Social Skills, Life Science, Health, every aspect of English including: composition, creative writing, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, simple to collegiate writing, literature, ESL (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese speaking countries, Romania, Taiwanese, Russian, Spanish speaking countries, Somalia), Penmanship, ACT and SAT English preparation. College application letters, Term papers, and Junior and Senior thesis papers for High School, and University. I tutored at SSCC for three years: Psychology, Anatomy and Phyisology, all English genres, History, and in the Math and English lab. I also tutor people for the military entrance exam.
I have increased my skills by working for many different tutoring companies over the 20 years. Additionally, I take time to study and research the information I don’t understand, and am a private tutor too.
My tutoring skills also include students with special needs, remedial, ADD, ADHD, and behavioral issues. I also have over 10 years experience with students who have Aspergers and multi-levels on the spectrum of autism.
My personal goal is to help each and every student reach their maximum ability. I want every student to feel the best about themselves and that sometimes means being adamant about not seeing themselves as anything other than a gift of God. I don’t let them use self-negative talk.
God has provided me with a talent. And I explore all avenues of it to the Glory of God.
This is my personal belief, BUT I do not discuss my religion with any student unless given permission by their parents. Having taught many races, ethnicities and colors, I am an equal opportunity tutor. Being a tutor is an extraordinary career and opportunity, and I do not take it lightly. Seeing a child’s eyes light up with understanding gives me such encouragement and happiness.
Thank you,
I hope that I can help you or your child to exceed in your goal to master a subject.
