Hello, I'm Eamon. I graduated from the University of Arkansas with honors in 2020. I have a 36 on ACT math and a 2370 on the old SAT (equivalent to about a 1590 today). I’ve also worked at both Huntington and Sylvan Learning Centers. Today I teach Algebra I and II, Pre-Algebra, Geometry, SAT Math, ACT Math and Science, and GED Math. I have helped high schoolers increase their scores by as much as 5 points on the ACT, and one hundred fifty on the SAT. I also have experience working with students who have ADHD, adult learners, and others who otherwise have trouble finding effective, personalized tutoring.
I aim to help students learn topics with the approach that works best for them. For example, some problems can be done by picking numbers and substituting them in, or by working them out logically. I am prepared to teach whichever way works best for the individual. I understand how the test is designed - be it the ACT, SAT, or GED - and what the test-makers want. Students will need to apply concepts like the Pythagorean theorem, or symmetry, in unexpected ways. I train the adaptability and deep understanding needed to score high. I also know the value of practice, and which patterns to prepare for. I have a lengthy list of topics and practice questions that I will build lessons from as we go. I draw on my own experience and my time with Huntington and Sylvan Learning to create personalized lessons that ensure students work faster and score higher. No matter where my students start, I am prepared to help them improve. I love math, and I believe that everyone can learn it!
