I'm Matt D., a 35 year old with a passion for statistics, research, writing, and education. I have been tutoring for 6 years now and have had great success with my students, ranging from high school to college and graduate students (Master's and PhD) of all ages.
I began tutoring by helping other students in my graduate-level statistics classes. During my PhD coursework, I worked as a private statistics tutor, while also teaching the introductory sequences in educational research in the School of Education at the University of Michigan. I now work as a statistician for Southern Methodist University, focusing on enrollment modeling. My subjects of expertise range from high school and college-level statistics and probability, writing (especially for those writing theses or dissertations), and I have vast experience with statistical programming in the STATA statistical software.
I prefer one-on-one tutoring and enjoy engaging my students with fun and challenging statistics and writing problems. I like to apply statistic/probability/writing to real world situations to allow my students to fully understand the relevance and necessity of knowing and using these subjects in their everyday lives. My goal is to help my students fully understand these principles, so that you won't need me anymore (although I'll always be here for you. :) ).
Please contact me about any questions you may have! I look forward to working with you!
