I have been tutoring for years, since high school. I have tutored many areas such as chemistry, mathematics, physics, biology, SAT, ACT, MCAT, English, history, and Spanish.
I received a degree from TCU in Chemistry and Mathematics, two majors. I received an A in my general chemistry class with Dr Neilson at TCU (notorious for being the hardest professor), and a 5 on the AP Calculus test. I have tutored all ages from 3rd grade all the way up to a 40 year old man getting his degree online. I am very comfortable with tutoring and is my passion!!I have tutored individually and in group sessions. I focus on fundamental learning and understanding instead of teaching those lousy rote cookbook methods taught by certain teachers. I tailor my teaching style accommodate different backgrounds and learning styles which results in higher quiz and test scores.
I did research with a professor at TCU in theoretical organic chemistry which was recently submitted to the Journal of Organic Chemistry for publication; this is very rare with undergrads. I have presented my research orally over 10 times and in poster 2 times, twice at a national conference. The title of my paper is: "The Anomalous Stablilization of the Cis-2-Butenyl Anion by Both Through-Space and Through-Bond Interactions".
I was heavily involved in school in organizations and clubs, such as the Ronald E. McNair program, American Chemical Society (TCU Chem Club), the TCU leadership center, United Latino Association, and was part of a fraternity. I held leadership roles in almost all of these organizations. I was even a teacher at one point through the chemistry club. I went to a local elementary school where I led, taught, and prepared from scratch weekly lessons for 20 students that included creative demonstrations and hands-on experiments to facilitate the learning. I even organized and coordinated 3-5 other TCU student helpers for each weekly visit.
