As a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Language Arts teacher for the Ridley School District, it is my personal goal to develop life-long learners in a positive classroom environment. Prior to earning my Masters degree at West Chester University in 2018, I earned a 3.9 cumulative GPA during my undergraduate years at WCU where I graduated Summa Cum Laude: Highest Honors. Due to my academic achievement, I also received a total of 5 scholarships and earned membership into two of the most prestigious honor societies in my field: Pi Lambda Theta National Honor Society for Educators and Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society. In addition, I was granted with the Outstanding Teacher Education Senior Award in 2016. As a firm believer in making education a top priority, it is my personal goal to apply my knowledge and assist students who need help with the subject of English, especially in the area of writing. By encouraging students to realize their own potential while making learning fun, I have been and will be able to continue to help them improve their grades.

Though students may be looking to improve their grades in English, they will also be able to improve their grades in other subject areas as well when a writing or reading assignment is required. For example, a science teacher may assign a reading assignment from a textbook where students must summarize what they read so that they understand the material. My methods of teaching will not only help students in an English class, but in all subject areas. I provide assignments where students have fun while learning, and are not overwhelmed by the material. By providing progress reports, students will be able to see how they have improved over the course of our tutoring sessions.

Because of my passion for education, I will often ask students and parents for feedback to ensure that the student is receiving high quality tutoring sessions. I am flexible with time and will offer make-up classes, but I do have a 24-hour cancellation policy.

Although I do have a comfortable and quiet place to tutor students, I am happy to travel to another location where it is convenient for both the students and parents.
