Mr. Neffenger has more than 35 years of experience in a variety of industries, including retail
and foodservice industries & the northeast Ohio music scene early in his career, later
transitioning into the telecommunications industry. For the last 24 years, he has continued to
work in the construction, contracting, and engineering industries. During each phase of his
career, he has both worked for employers and clients while maintaining a growing client base
locally and nationally as a civil engineer and general contractor. His experience below
demonstrates his ability to adapt to multiple shifts in industries, organizational shifts, and
periods of contract work and self-employment. During this present shift, Mr. Neffenger is
researching and hand-selecting specific roles of interest that will primarily utilize his unique
variety of artistic, interpersonal, managerial, marketing, and technical skills. In addition, Mr.
Neffenger maintains a dedication to supporting, promoting, and pursuing artistic endeavors and
S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) programs for people of all ages
and recently founded Crosswinds Ohio, Inc., an Ohio-based non-profit dedicated to actively
educating, demonstrating, and promoting these s.t.e.A.m. in practical ways in the academia
and the community. He is keenly aware that the balance between artistic expression and
rational thought helps creative, intelligent people to achieve personal life balance. This
personal balance has a far-reaching effect within neighborhoods, communities, and
public/private organizations and institutions for those pursuing hobbies and/or careers in the
arts and sciences. Currently, while Mr. Neffenger is working on his Masters Degree in
Engineering/Management at the University of Akron (UofA) as a part-time employee in the Civil
Engineering Department at the UofA, he is seeking opportunities that will not conflict with his
academic obligations when school is in session.
