I'm a compassionate teacher who thrives on helping students achieve their goals. My own career path started in journalism, where I worked as an editor and writer for newspapers including The New York Times and the San Francisco Chronicle. Later, I became an artist as it gave me more freedom for expressing my ideas. I once collected more than 600 antique typewriters and put them in sculptural "cages" to make a statement about censorship. This work was shown on the site of the Nazi book burning in Berlin, Germany. Now, I make art and teach art at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I have extensive experience writing and editing project proposals and grants. I love to help my students achieve their dreams.
