Dorothy Q. Rates Finiello also known as
“The Good Lil’ Artist” specializes in painting, clay sculpture, fiber crafts, design, collage arts, and illustration.
She received her degrees and certification in art from Ky. Wesleyan College 1977, Fayetteville State University 1997, and from the University of North Carolina Pembroke 2001.
She has taught elementary art in the Durham Public school system. She also taught in the Cumberland
and Johnston County school system as a middle grade visual art teacher.
She has also served as the Art Services Director for the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County, NC
She instructed art for The Raleigh Little Theater Summer Camp Program (Raleigh, NC) and also for Smithfield NC and Selma NC Parks and Rec. Programs
She retired from teaching visual art in the public school system in June 2018.
