Hi there! I was an educator in central MA for six years in various capacities, a field hockey coach for nearly ten years, and I have been tutoring privately for several years as well. For four years, I worked with middle school students with diverse learning needs in the mainstream classroom. I assisted students with comprehension, organization, critical thinking, short and long-term assignments, as well as study skills across a range of subjects. For two years, I worked with high school students in a special education tutorial classroom. This included individual as well as small-group tutoring in the areas of math, science, English, history, and foreign language at various levels. My focus has always been on assisting students to become independent, motivated, and successful learners. Initially a biology major, I earned my bachelor of science degree from UMass Amherst in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences, combining my interests in science, public/community health, nutrition, and a holistic approach to education. So far this year I am making plans to continue my education and pursue my graduate degree in public health, with a focus on community health.
