I have teaching experience in STEM & English for 3rd/4th graders, middle schoolers, high schoolers, and senior-citizen level second-language learners. It has been a lot of fun teaching, and hope to provide the same for you, wherever you are in your journey! :)
Experience:
-STEM teaching and mentoring for middle schoolers located in a remote, rural location through Skype! :-)
-Teaching middle school students with immigrant parents in Ilsan, South Korea in remedial English and Math
-Teaching a UCLA senior citizen/campus staff English as her second language, Spanish native
-Electricity & Magnetism to 3rd/4th graders at the UCLA Lab School
-AP Physics & Chemistry to high school seniors in Washington, DC
-Mentoring a high school senior in a research project for a whole summer
-STEM summer camp for middle schoolers - science experiments
My teaching philosophy:
(1) See potential when a student has doubts,
(2) Challenge when they are bored,
(3) Offer a safe space to make "mistakes,"
(4) Grant opportunities to think critically/improve,
(5) Treat them as an individual with unique needs.
