Hello! My name is Bill, and I'm a licensed educator with nine years of experience working in elementary schools. I have a master's degree in teaching and a bachelor's in art; my license is for elementary education, with endorsements in art and ESL instruction.
For the past seven years, I was a fourth grade teacher and guided my students in daily explorations of math, language arts, social studies, and science. Prior to that, I tutored children in third through fifth grade, student taught in a second grade classroom, and helped kindergarten and first grade students develop beginning reading skills. I am currently tutoring youth in middle school and the upper elementary grades.
My calm presence and dedication to the socioemotional well-being of my students has earned me recognition as a trustworthy leader who can be depended on to build confidence in even the most frustrated kids. I have proven myself to be a versatile, organized planner adept at bridging subject matter to inspire complex insights and maximize emergent critical thinking. In return, I feel as though I have learned something from each of the hundreds of kids I've had the privilege to work with.
In my free time, I enjoy focusing on creative projects. My background is in graphic design and fine art, and I have extensive writing practice. When I can incorporate these skills in my teaching, I feel like I am doing my very best work. I also love to help students develop the skills necessary for self-expression.
Contact me today to get started helping your child accomplish more in their learning. I would love to help them reach their true potential, and enjoy the process of getting there. Let's schedule a first tutoring session today!
