Rob is a certified English teacher and experienced and caring tutor with an excellent record. Rob graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in computer science. He had a career with IBM as a programmer and customer educator. This experience fostered his love of teaching. He has a degree from National Louis University - a Master of Arts in Teaching degree and is certified to teach grades 6-12. As a high school teacher, Rob has taught English (including literature, grammar, and writing), speech, and drama. He also has served as the Speech Team coach.
Rob's background in both Math and English make him an ideal tutor for helping students with ACT and SAT preparation. He also tutors acting and speech. He is able to use various perspectives to explain concepts in a way that will make most sense to his students. He brings deep subject knowledge, along with patience, humor, and an easygoing encouraging style to all that he teaches. He has also been known to discuss sports and movies with his students as he works to form connections with them!
Rob continues both his acting and playwright careers, having performed in more than 80 plays and published more than 30 plays. He tutors students in ACT, SAT, and TOEFL test preparation, as well as in English, writing, and acting.
In his spare time, Rob enjoys chess, acting, creative writing, playing guitar, playing bridge and games of all kinds He also loves sports, particularly Chicago teams.
