Hi, my name is N'Kyla Rolland. I graduated cum laude with Honors Program distinction from Georgia Gwinnett College. I obtained my RBT certification in 2019. For that do not know what an RBT is, it stands for Registered Behavior Technician. We work with kids with autism implementing goals for them to achieve in their daily living, social skills, etc. I have experience with working in-home and in-clinic.
My methods of teaching are to first learn their material. Ask my student exactly what they are struggling with. I ask myself the question: If I was in 5th grade how would I need to learn this? I ask this question to decide a fun and creative way for it to be taught. I like to create lesson plans and practice problems so students can understand and practice the material. I then have them teach it back to me so I can make sure all of their questions are answered. I am very understanding and will take extra time to give my students confidence in their knowledge. Teaching will always be a passion of mine because knowledge is too big to be limited. I work well with students and can form a student-teacher bond so they can come to me with any question necessary.
I am currently an RBT in-clinic. In my future career in teaching, I want students to enjoy and be confident about what they have learned.
I have a very flexible schedule and will attempt to make myself available at all times. Tutors are for guidance, I am here to guide you. A unique talent I have is making people feel comfortable from the moment they meet me. I am here for your needs. Do not hesitate to reach out to me and we will start with an initial consultation so I am able to get to know the student better. My tutoring is done online, however, I am flexible if in-person would be more beneficial. My minimum response time is 4 hours and that includes scheduling and questions. I request all cancellations be done a minimum of 4 hours in advance.
