Hello!
My name is Mike. I have been teaching for a long time and have had the opportunity to work with a lot of subjects. My students have ranged in age from Pre-K to Grad School throughout my career. I taught undergrad research, public speaking, and cinematography at Young Harris College for 9 years. Before that as I was getting into the teaching field I worked with Pre-K and Elementary children as a co-teacher and enrichment tutor. During my time at Young Harris I also taught high school students through the Move On When Ready program. I have taught in person and online.
A few of my other subjects have been nano-narratives, Photoshop / Illustrator, and Design Principles. As a research instructor I was a member of the Young Harris College library department and was embedded in English, History, and Communication classes as a liaison and co-teacher in research and media production.
My focus in my Masters was visual communication so I know a lot about Adobe. After my Masters program I did a nine-month intensive mentorship with working professionals in the motion graphics industry. I studied under some of the top creatives from studios all over the world in small classroom settings to learn After Effects.
Currently, I work as a graphic designer and motion graphics artist for small to medium-sized businesses. I still love to teach however, and can tutor you in any of the subjects I've mentioned above. I'm quite good at conveying dense information in understandable ways.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have for me!
~Mike
