Biology and Chemistry tutor

I was a full-time high school science teacher for 18 years until I retired at the end of the 2017-2018 academic year. Last year I began tutoring students in chemistry and biology. I tutored 3 students face-to-face in chemistry in Sarasota, FL. I also tutored approximately 15 different students online in chemistry or biology through the Wyzant tutoring service. I am currently working with 5 students so far in the 2019-2020 academic year, either online or face-to-face. I have a very low-key tutoring style, which I feel helps students minimize any anxiety that might arise in a tutoring environment. I encourage my students to send me any written materials ahead of the tutoring session, such as worksheets or practice tests, so that I can review them and be as prepared as possible for our session. This makes our time together as effective as possible for the students, and keeps their costs at a minimum. I encourage students to ask me questions during our sessions so we can better insure their understanding of key information by the time our session is over.
