I am a current M.D. Candidate at FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and will be finishing my medical school education in 2022. I am also a current tutor at my Medical School, and I tutor medical students in a variety of first year and second year subjects. I graduated from UCLA in 2011, and received my Bachelors of Science in Neuroscience. I understand the importance of hard work and dedication to education. I achieved multiple awards for my academic excellence in high school, and graduated from my High School with a 4.2 weighted GPA, and 3.73 unweighted. I was an AP Scholar, and also received multiple awards for my involvement in extracurriculars; such as Senior Class President, National Honor Society, President of the Indian Club, and Model United Nations. When I entered UCLA, I thrived in the competitive environment, and also tutored a student in Cerritos for a few months. Her performance in her school work increased, and her parents were very happy with my work. Furthermore, I worked with an organization on campus known as the Interaxon club which went to inner-city schools and taught children in middle schools and high schools about the brain. I have worked with all kinds of kids, and I understand that some children just need the extra push to perform better, however, I believe that I can provide that. Not only did I go to an extremely competitive and difficult university, but I also expanded myself, and became involved with research at UCLA. This allowed me to expand my knowledge in the sciences by an exponential amount. I love helping students learn and thrive because it allows me to teach what I have learned during my years in high school and college.
I passed AP Calculus AB test with a 5 and BC test with a 4.
I was a pre-med student at UCLA, one of the top pre-med programs in the nation, and have scored in the 92nd percentile on the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) giving me a strong and comprehensive background in all of the sciences.
Since finishing my undergraduate degree at UCLA, I have attended Tufts University for a Master's in Biomedical Sciences. This education built on my already strong foundation in the sciences and have qualified me to tutor in most biomedical-based sciences such as Anatomy, Physiology, Histology, and Pathology. My Master's at Tufts was thesis-based and I am currently working to complete my thesis that is focused on the biochemical and metabolic reprogramming by the glioblastoma brain tumor.
I am extremely flexible with my time and have a positive and competitive attitude. I love to see my students excel and encourage them to push themselves to the limit in order to instill a sense of confidence and ambition in them.
