Hello! Are you struggling to remember grammar rules, develop a thought-provoking thesis or need help with sentence structure in your essay? My name is Rachel Vensand and I am a seasoned English tutor who is happy to help you realize your fullest writing potential.
In 2016, I graduated magna cum laude (3.85 GPA) from University of Southern California with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature. I am currently enrolled in University of San Diego’s Masters of Education program, and I am pursuing a Masters in Education with a dual teaching credential specializing in 7-12th grade English as well as special education for students with mild/moderate learning disabilities.
I have experience editing essays from middle school, high school and college students, particularly with AP Literature/Language, English/History/Art History assignments, personal essays for college, research papers and more. I am comfortable helping students with summer reading, reading comprehension, writing, and many other disciplines.
Additionally, I have journalism experience and am seasoned at writing press releases, artist biographies and long-form interviews, which appear in publications including LOCALE Magazine, Career Contessa, Byrdie, Daily Trojan, Dancing Astronaut, EARMILK and more.
I have recently relocated from Los Angeles where I was employed with three different tutoring companies including Tutor Me LA, Crowning Point Tutoring, and Tutor Doctor. Additionally, I enjoyed my time as an on-call substitute teacher at Bridges Elementary in Studio City, CA, which is a “2e” school that serves students with learning disabilities.
Whether you have a rough draft, need help on an essay outline, or have an assignment in the humanities, I am happy to help you reach your fullest academic potential in a variety of subjects. Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
