I worked for 15 years at CENTRO DE ATENCIÓN MÚLTIPLE (C.A.M)
(Multiple Care Center); Where I worked in the areas of Psychology, Special Education, Educational Therapy for Parents and finally in Research.
C.A.M. Are educational institutions where children are cared for from 45 days old up to 15 years of age, who have a disability (Intellectual, Auditory, Visual, Motor or Multiple). In which the students served are given curricular adaptations to create meaningful learning, specific materials and programs, permanent or generalized support. Providing early stimulation care, preschool, primary, job training (workshops), supplementary support. In order to meet the basic learning needs of students with special educational needs with disabilities.
Also to promote autonomy and social coexistence to improve their quality of life, and finally to transfer to a regular school those students who can be integrated into a "Regular Classroom".
Develop and implement lesson plans for class of students with high-functioning autism, speech impairment, dyslexia, and other learning disabilities
Differentiate activities and goals to meet each student’s individual needs and abilities
Write and administer tests and evaluations adapted to the abilities of each student
Engage in regular dialogue with parents, administrators, and various service providers to ensure student success inside and outside the classroom.
