I would like to express my genuine interest in serving my community while using my English Language skills and years of expertise. I would be honored to be part of many more students' stories of success in the academic field. With this in mind, I recognize that the knowledge I have accumulated while working as an English and ESL teacher in multiple settings, such as The Quarry Lane School, a college preparatory school (instructing high-performing middle-school and high-school students), Ohlone College, Las Positas College, Los Medanos College (teaching Developmental English and Composition), the English Center in Pittsburg, and L.E.N. Institute in San Francisco – instructing international students, adult immigrants and refugees, St. Giles Summer School, The American Language Program (at CSU East Bay), CSU East Bay (teaching Developmental English), International Education Center (associated with DVC), ELS Language Center, Berkeley (instructing teenage/young adults international students in a residential environment), Dublin Adult School, as well as an English teacher in Europe has provided me with valuable hands-on experience and strengthened my interest in instructing a wide diversity of students, creating a comfortable environment for all.
My extensive teaching and leadership experience has helped me acquire a variety of teaching methods in a student-centered environment, including using technology and real-life situations to stimulate students’ involvement and providing an ample array of activities to ensure their success. While attending to the above objectives, I have constantly been praised (in official evaluations) by students and supervisors alike for my passion for teaching, my knowledge, and flexibility in style.
