My teenage daughter is very happy with Hannah. We hired Hannah to work with my daughter to improve her writing responses for the AP World History test. My daughter has some hearing loss and she always has to work hard when writing essays. The timed aspect of the AP World History was causing stress so Hannah is teaching her the various steps in writing: reading the passage for key points, outlining the essay, and writing the essay. While the AP exam is the immediate goal, learning skills for successful writing in any future classes is the ultimate goal. The first week's session was introductions and Hannah getting to know my daughter (& vice versa) and my daughter's style/method of thinking & learning. Hannah and my daughter ended up having a lot of similar interests so it started off the tutoring sessions on a positive note. My daughter's reluctance to add 'another hour of tutoring' disappeared (my daughter also has one for Spanish because of her hearing).
I am a professional Data Scientist applying for PhD programs in Computer Science. I am not a strong writer, so I wanted some help with writing my personal statement and letter of intent. I met with Dexter on two occasions for roughly a total of six hours. Dexter came well-prepared to both sessions with notes and material on the best techniques for writing these essays. It was clear that, prior to my lesson, he had taken time out of his day to prep and make sure that our time spent together would be as productive as possible. I really liked the way Dexter was able to help me put my ideas into words in a structured format. He asked excellent questions that helped generate new ideas for what to write. By the end of the two sessions, I had complete and well-written drafts of both the personal statement and the letter of intent. Also, Dexter continued to edit the essays after our sessions (free of charge). I highly recommend Dexter as a tutor.
Ms. Reynoso is very professional, articulate, punctual and very knowledgeable in tutoring elementary students in writing. Not only she is friendly with kids, she understands the behavior aspects of young children. I like how Ms. Reynoso spends the first lesson getting to know my son, finding out what his weaknesses are in writing and simply getting my son to be comfortable around her. By the second session, Ms. Reynoso meant business. She went straight into training my son in writing.
Very flexible with the schedule, and very communicative. Has provided me excellent feedback, and excellent observations about my sons strengths and weaknesses. She could have written the material herself, however, they have a working together, and my son is very hopeful that he will get all of his assignments completed. He was not hopeful before tutoring, he was defeated.
I have learned so much from my short time working with Pao-yi.She is knowledgeable and exceptionally patient. I look forward to our sessions because I can count on her to answer my every question in a way that I can understand. I highly recommend her to any student needing help in her area of expertise.

excellent tutor who is affiliated with local administrators on state exam, she is very knowledgeable about the exam process and can explain in detail of the content. Great resource for SOL and other state test.
